Emergency SMS Alerts Terms
Last updated: August 25, 2026
These terms cover the CrisisComms emergency SMS alert program only. They are separate from the CrisisComms Terms of Service, and you do not need to accept these messaging terms in order to use CrisisComms or any service your employer provides.
1. Program description
Employers use CrisisComms to send automated emergency and crisis SMS alerts to employees and emergency contacts who choose to receive them. CrisisComms provides the software; your employer decides who is invited and what each message says. Messages are never sent for marketing, promotions, or routine company updates.
2. Opting in is optional
Opting in is optional. If you decline, it will not affect your employment, your access to CrisisComms, or any other service your employer provides.
SMS consent is never required to create a CrisisComms account, to sign in, to complete any purchase or transaction, or as a condition of employment. No product feature is withheld from anyone who declines. Consent to receive messages is collected on its own and is not bundled with acceptance of any other agreement.
3. How to opt in
There is one way to join: an individual opens a personal invitation link sent to their email, enters and confirms their own mobile number, and checks a consent box that is unchecked by default. The same page offers a clearly labeled option to decline. Administrators cannot opt in on anyone else's behalf, and CrisisComms does not use keyword, paper, verbal, in-store, or QR opt-in.
After opting in, you receive one confirmation text identifying the program, message frequency, rates, and the STOP and HELP keywords.
4. Message frequency and rates
Message frequency varies. Messages are sent only when your employer sends an emergency or crisis alert, so there is no fixed schedule. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers, not CrisisComms, set those charges.
5. Opting out and help
Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Reply STOP to any message to leave that employer's alert program. You may receive one final confirmation text after opting out. Reply HELP for program information and support contact details, or email team@crisiscomms.io.
Opting out of SMS does not affect other communications your employer sends outside this program, and does not affect your employment or your access to CrisisComms.
6. Carriers and delivery
Delivery depends on your wireless carrier and is not guaranteed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Do not rely on text messages as your only source of safety information during an emergency.
7. Your mobile information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third parties and are not sold. We use Twilio as a service provider to deliver messages. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
If your mobile number changes, SMS consent may reset and you may need to opt in again.
8. Contact
