Terms of Service

Last updated: August 24, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the CrisisComms website and software. By using CrisisComms, you agree to these Terms. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

1. The service

CrisisComms provides crisis communications playbooks, decision-tree workflows, emergency SMS alerts, approval tracking, and live incident execution tools. Features and limits depend on your plan. We may update the product over time.

2. Emergency SMS alerts

Your employer may use CrisisComms to send emergency and crisis-related SMS alerts to designated employees and emergency contacts. CrisisComms provides the software; your employer decides who receives alerts and what each message says. Messages are not sent for marketing, promotions, or routine company updates.

Recipients opt in themselves using the personalized link sent to their work email. By checking the consent box (unchecked by default), entering a mobile number, and submitting the form, they give express consent to receive automated emergency SMS messages from their employer via CrisisComms at that number.

Opting in is optional and separate from these Terms. Accepting these Terms of Service does not enroll anyone in SMS alerts, and the consent checkbox on the opt-in form covers text messages only — it is not bundled with acceptance of these Terms, the Privacy Policy, or any other agreement. The opt-in form also offers a clearly labeled option to decline. SMS consent is never a condition of purchase, account creation, employment, or access to any part of CrisisComms. Full program terms are in the Emergency SMS Alerts Terms.

Message frequency varies and occurs only when your employer sends an emergency or crisis alert. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel SMS alerts from that employer's program, or HELP for more information. After opting out, you may receive one final confirmation text. Delivery depends on your wireless carrier and is not guaranteed. Do not rely on text messages as your only source of safety information during an emergency.

If your mobile number changes, SMS consent may reset and you may need to opt in again. Opting out of SMS does not affect other communications from your employer sent outside this program.

3. Accounts and access

You must provide accurate registration information and keep credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account and for inviting users in line with your plan limits.

4. Acceptable use

You may not misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, upload unlawful content, interfere with other users, or use CrisisComms in ways that violate applicable law. We may suspend or terminate access for violations.

5. Customer content

You retain ownership of playbooks and content you create. You grant CrisisComms a limited license to host, process, and display that content solely to operate the service. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of your crisis communications materials.

6. Templates and guidance

Templates and educational content are starting points, not legal advice. You should review all messaging with qualified counsel before use in a real incident.

7. Subscription and billing

Paid plans are billed according to the pricing shown at signup or renewal. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or stated in your order. We may change prices with notice before renewal.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or that the service will prevent harm during an emergency. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CrisisComms and its suppliers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
